Srinagar, Nov 01 (KNO): Celebrated Bollywood lyricist Sameer Anjaan, known for penning some of India’s most iconic songs, on Saturday revealed that he has written a “new youth anthem” for the upcoming patriotic film Galwan, inspired by the valour and spirit of India’s soldiers.
Speaking at the international seminar Rahi Ki Virasat organized by the University of Kashmir, Sameer Anjaan, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the anthem celebrates the courage, unity and forward spirit of India’s youth.
“You will soon hear its songs. I have written one so far for the movie. Most youngsters don’t even know that the famous youth anthem ‘Sabse Aage Honge Hindustani’ has been written by me,” he said.
Anjaan described the Galwan movie as a project close to his heart and a film that pays homage to the soldiers who displayed unmatched bravery at the Galwan Valley in Ladakh, symbolizing national pride and sacrifice.
The film, he said, seeks to ignite a sense of purpose among India’s young generation, transforming patriotism into progress.
Reflecting on his artistic journey, Anjaan said the spirit of Galwan draws from the same humanistic ideals that guided Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza, the legendary writer and poet being commemorated at the seminar.
“Rahi Sahab’s words carried the pulse of the common man. He didn’t write in Hindi or Urdu, he wrote in Hindustani, the language of the heart,” Anjaan remarked.
It is worth mentioning, the veteran lyricist, who holds the world record for writing over 4,000 film songs, said Rahi’s literature continues to inspire generations of artists and thinkers.
Expressing his joy at visiting the Valley, Anjaan added, “I am in Kashmir for the first time today. I had imagined this city many times, but I am seeing it with my own eyes for the very first time.”—(KNO)
